Featured Student Writer: Morgan Lynch

on July 23, 2015

Morgan was a fourth grader at Thoroughgood Elementary School in Virginia when her poem “World Peace Constitution” was selected as a Top Ten Winner in our national poetry contest for students in grades K-12.

“I was inspired to start writing last year during our poetry section in class.” Morgan explains, “We held a poetry reading for our families and I loved it! I wrote this poem at school with the theme The World Would Be a Better Place If… I thought about the lessons I have learned from Girl Scouts and through my community service as I was writing.”

In the future, Morgan hopes to write her own book of poetry like her idol Shel Silverstein. She also wants to attend college and research a cure for cancer.
